OUR STORY
Mavericks Rugby was founded in 2012 in partnership with the Coastal Dragons to give La Costa Canyon High School students the opportunity to compete in a true school-based program built on character, leadership, and lifelong friendships.
The girls program joined in 2015, expanding a tradition that now includes varsity and junior varsity competition in the Southern California Interscholastic Rugby Federation and Southern California Youth Rugby league. Mavericks teams regularly compete among Southern California’s strongest high school programs and have earned national recognition.
Our players have continued their rugby journeys at leading collegiate programs and through USA Rugby pathways—but every Maverick leaves with something equally important: confidence, resilience, and a community for life.
Every player who wears the Mavericks jersey becomes part of something bigger than themselves.
